After two epic events in the Fall & Winter of 2011, and even a Seattle appearance for St. Patrick’s Day, TRUCKERDISCO is coming back to Vancouver – at the former John Barley’s, Club 23!

Q: TRUCKERDISCO? WTF?
A: It’s a night of Disco, but probably not as you know it: Italo-Disco, Nu-Disco, Crisco Disco, Space-Disco, Discopunk, past to present, anthems & oddities, Giorgio Moroder to James Murphy. DJ Taffi Louis (Thickset, Roboteria) & guests spinning the good shit. Full DJ line-up coming soon!

An eclectic, inclusive dance floor for guys, grrls, hipsters, homos, folks of all bearish persuasions, str8s, disco queens, killer mustaches, mustache riders, muff drivers, disco dancers, sweet romancers, and maybe even you, too!

And many thanks to everyone who came out for TRUCKERDISCO Round 2 last Friday at The Cobalt! Despite predictions that it would be a quiet night because people saving their energy for New Year’s Eve the following night, and rent day immediately after that, and despite it being announced on relatively short notice, after hopping from one venue, to another, then another, then back again to my first choice of a space all along.

DJs HiFi Brown and Jay Douglas got compliments left and right. Much dancing ensued. Hipsters and lesbians, nostalgic disco queens and guys sweating up their leathers, bears and twinks smiling, laughing, showing off their moves… (“Cats and dogs … living together… MASS HYSTERIA!”) I hope you had half as much fun as we did! Keep impressing the bartenders with how NICE you are, and maybe the next TRUCKERDISCO can take place even just a little bit sooner!
